Visit Karaganda and 2GIS Discuss Cooperation Opportunities in Tourism Mapping Development

An introductory meeting was held in Karaganda between representatives of the Visit Karaganda Tourist Information Centre and 2GIS to discuss potential cooperation in developing tourism mapping across the Karaganda Region.

One of the key topics was updating information about tourist attractions in Karkaralinsk, Balkhash and other destinations across the region. Cooperation in this area would help improve the completeness and accuracy of information about accommodation facilities, attractions, recreation areas and other places of interest to travellers.

This initiative is particularly relevant during the summer tourist season, when interest in travelling around the region increases, especially to the shores of Lake Balkhash and the natural attractions of the Karkaraly district.

According to data presented during the meeting, 1,419,000 users currently have the map of the Karaganda Region downloaded in the 2GIS application. In July and August, the reported activity indicator reaches 1.6 million downloads. These figures highlight the importance of digital mapping services in providing tourism information and helping travellers plan their trips.

Cooperation between Visit Karaganda and 2GIS is viewed as an opportunity to improve access to up-to-date information about the region’s tourism infrastructure, make it easier to discover places of interest and contribute to the development of the Karaganda Region’s tourism potential.
